Enrique Martinez Cubells (Madrid, April 28, 1874 - Malaga 25 February 1947) was a Spanish painter.
He was the son of the painter Salvador Martinez Cubells. Home his artistic training at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid and continued in the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando. In 1899 he moved to Germany for a while and settled in Munich and traveling through different countries of Europe. Back in Spain was professor of the School of Arts and Crafts in London and the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando of which had been a student.
He specialized in issues of character and manners of social content, most often associated with the sea and fishing, but also reflected cityscapes, interiors and rural environments. In 1904 he won first prize at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts with the canvas work, rest and family, work owned Prado Museum in Madrid which is deposited in the Museum of Fine Arts in Valencia. Got the same award in 1912 with the play The Return from Fishing, also owned by the Prado Museum, exhibited at the Museum of Malaga. In the Museo Carmen Thyssen (Málaga) is shown his work with different canvases. In 2003 the Conference and Exhibition Centre Ibercaja in Zaragoza, he dedicated a major monographic exhibition.
